Our Story
story

We have more than 20 years of experience in the coffee

Excellent Coffee Tour was born from the dreams of a young woman (Mariumu Pallangyo) raised in the vibrant foothills of Mount Meru, right in the heart of Arusha. Growing up surrounded by the rhythms of local life and the scent of fresh coffee in the air, she witnessed firsthand the quiet beauty of her homeland — the rustling of coffee trees, the songs of farmers at work, and the warmth of a tightly knit community rich in tradition.

As a young adult, she became a local tour guide, introducing visitors to Tanzania’s famous national parks and landscapes. But as she guided safari after safari, she felt a tug — a desire to show people not just the wildlife and the savannahs, but the culture, the people, and the stories hidden in the hills and valleys where she grew up.

That passion gave birth to Excellent Coffee Tour.

With nothing but deep local knowledge, a gift for storytelling, and strong community ties, she built a tour experience rooted in authenticity. She partnered with local coffee farmers, artisans, and families to create something different — not just a tour, but a journey into the soul of Arusha.
